NET STAFFING City Manager/Chief Administrator 1 NET Director Administrative Assistant 10 NET Administrators 1 Principal Staff Auditor 1 Assistant Director 13 Service Reps 13 Service Aides 12 Litter/Graffiti Bustersil omeless Programs Administrator 1 32 Support Staff NET Staffing NET Administrator Duties Include • Acting as the primary liaison and conduit of information between the community and the City Administration • Implementing Commission policies, visions and educational initiatives as directed by the Administration • Coordinating with other City departments to facilitate the delivery of services • Establishing a close working relationship with neighborhood organizations • Developing plans, strategies and legislative initiatives in partnership with neighborhood stakeholders 01 Managing the overall activities of the neighborhood service center, including the supervising of administrative and clerical staff • Participating in meetings to obtain and disseminate information • Assisting residents and businesspersons in navigating interdepartmental processes Service Center Representative Duties Include • Assisting the NET Administrator with daily operations and supervision of personnel • Representing the NET Administrator as required • Conducting surveys, collecting data and maintaining records to compile reports • Recommending solutions to correct problems and to improve efficiency • Acting as liaison with other departments or other NET Centers • Providing customer service to visitors and callers • Tracking requests for service and following through to resolution Service Center Aide Duties Include • Assisting the NET Service Center Representative • Acting as liaison between departments or other NET Service Center • Acting as office aide for a NET Service Center; assisting with logging, filing and maintaining requests for services and complaints • Disseminating information to appropriate persons or departments and following through to ensure action is being taken • Functioning as a receptionist, greeting visitors and callers NET Locations Allapattah Coral Way Flagami East Little Havana West Little Havana NE Coconut Grove SW Coconut Grove Downtown Overtown Wynwood/Ed gewater Model City Little Haiti Upper Eastside Office of Homeless Programs (City Wide) NET Services Include • Garage Sale Permits • Tree Removal Permits • Certificates of Use • Occupational Licenses • Class I Special Permits • Providing information regarding City Services • Providing information on county, state and federal services • Promoting Economic Development • Homeless Assistance • 4 4 4 4 Housing Assistance Programs Ideas/ partnerships for improving neighborhoods Researching, planning and conducting neighborhood improvement projects Assisting neighborhood associations Planning and promoting special events Coordinating and/or conducting neighborhood meetings Providing meeting rooms Priorities and Initiatives Elderly Facade Compliance • To assist our fixed -income elderly community with compliance by identifying one non -compliant elderly citizen's home per Commission District (5 homes Citywide), then carrying out a volunteer service project to pressure clean, paint and beautify each home (possible including landscaping, as possible) until the violation is complied. NET Resource Guide to Neighborhood Services • As an essential part of NET's communication and outreach effort, NET will print 2500 copies (approximately 500 per Commission District) of this guide to be distributed among our Neighborhood Associations, Chambers of Commerce and other community groups and individuals Education & Beautification • To partner with DERM and volunteer groups to enhance the City's canopy/ environment by identifying eligible individuals/ homes to receive free trees from D E RM's "Adopt -A -Tree" community forestry project. In 2004, we plan to identify 10 eligible homes per Commission District (50 homes Citywide) and follow through until tree planting is completed. Elderly Empowerment Workshops To empower our elderly community, making them Tess likely victims of crimes and scams, NET will organize ten lunchtime workshops at Citywide Senior Centers. We will present crime prevention experts and distribute crime deterrents (e.g. steering wheel clubs) as available. NET Representation at Hearing Board Meetings • NET will be represented at Hearing Board meetings which deal with planning, zoning and nuisance issues. This will enable NET to effectively communicate pertinent information and make recommendations on matters that affect the neighborhoods. si These Boards Include • Zoning Board • Hearing Board _. Emergency Response • The NET offices play an integral role in responding to emergencies to expedite the delivery of goods, services and information to the community. • NET's role consists of three important components • PRE ASSESSMENT • ASSISTING THE EOC DURING ACTUAL EMERGENCY • POST ASSESSMENT CERT Participation To strengthen our City's ability to mobilize in the aftermath of an emergency, Fire - Rescue and NET are partnering to organize and train CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team) groups within each Commission District. Community Clean -Ups • As sites are identified, NET/MHAP, Police and Solid Waste pull together and schedule community clean-ups. Service Tracking System NET has developed and is implementing an in-house service tracking program that will effectively report requests for services provided by each NET Service Center. Domino Tournament • To foster cultural and neighborhood exchange, NET will host six Domino Tournaments throughout the City. These events will provide transportation to and from the event, entertainment, lunch and trophies for between 50 and 100 seniors per tournament Training and Development Customer Service Conflict Resolution Computer Skills Stress Management NET's Mission holistically focuses on enhancing the Quality Of Life through community relations, problem solving, personal and professional assistance and staff development
