HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-03-1251City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-03-1251 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 03-0337 Final Action Date: 12/18/2003 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS, TO FACILITATE THE FILMING OF ALL EVENTS RELATED TO THE CELEBRATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF HAITI BICENTENNIAL (JANUARY 1, 1804 - JANUARY 1, 2004); FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO ENGAGE SUCH SERVICES, AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE, FOR SAID PURPOSE, WITH FUNDS PREVIOUSLY ALLOCATED FOR THE BICENTENNIAL; FURTHER DIRECTING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $ , FROM SET -ASIDE FUNDS, TO COVER TRAVEL AND HOTEL EXPENSES FOR THOSE DIGNITARIES SCHEDULED TO ATTEND BICENTENNIAL EVENTS; AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PRESENT A REPORT DETAILING THE ACTIVITIES AND THE ALLOCATION DISTRIBUTIONS PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED FOR THE BICENTENNIAL. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI; FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is directed, with assistance from the Office of Communications, to facilitate the filming of all events related to the celebration of the Republic of Haiti Bicentennial (January 1, 1804 - January 1, 2004). Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute any necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to engage such services as deemed appropriate, for said purpose, with funds previously allocated for the Bicentennial. Section 3. The City Manager is directed to allocate funds, in an amount not to exceed $ , from set -aside funds to cover travel and hotel expenses for those dignitaries scheduled to attend Bicentennial events. Section 4. The City Manager is further directed to present a report detailing the activities and the allocaton distributions previously authorized for the Bicentennial. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 03-0337 (Version: 2) Printed On: 8/23/2016 File Number: 03-0337 Enactment Number: R-03-1251 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
