Miami Ave Bridge. The MRC passed a unanimous motion to recommend approval of the project, subject to increasing the riverwalk width near the S. Miami Avenue Bridge tenders tower. On November 18, 2003, Ms. Prieguez, Mr. Cabrera and Mr. Borges made a presentation to a subcommittee of the MRC. They stated on the record that the project will meet the MRC's condition to widen the Riverwalk's clear pedestrian path to a minimum width of 16 feet, in addition to funding and developing the riverwalk as it continues to the east on Miami -Dade County owned property beneath the S. Miami Avenue Bridge to connect with existing riverwalk sections, will provide wayfinding riverwalk signage, and install cleats along their section of the riverwalk for recreational boat access. The Miami River Village representatives are scheduled to address the Miami River Commission on December 1, regarding their requested waiver to the City Charter required side yard setback, which was not a component of their original July 22, 2002 presentation. Therefore, the MRC has no position with regards to the requested City Charter waiver at this time. We will advise the Planning Advisory Board on December 1, 2003 as to our position. Yours very truly, Robert L. Par s, Chair, Miami River Commission
