Attachmate appreciates the opportunity to work with City of Miami to provide a host access solution
that solves several, immediate challenges. With City of Miami's help, we understand that it is
increasingly difficult to provide information from one (1) NX5802-32s to those that request it. In
addition, we have learned that this demand is tying up IT staff and taxing system resources. As a
result, this environment is minimizing the opportunity to provide accurate, time sensitive information
to those that need it. The collaborative effort between Attachmate and City of Miami to evaluate the
existing environment and to define the business requirements has lead to our recommendation to
implement a solution that is in use at multiple Attachmate customer sites and successfully in pilot at
City of Miami. The proposed solution includes the following:
• Host Components that securely replicate the DMSII data to a client (i.e. SQL Server
Database), making business information easily accessible for the purpose of analyzing and
processing while conserving host resources simultaneously.
• Client Components that automate the replication process and offload query intensive
applications from DMSII for greater performance and efficiency of the production system.
These client components (for SQL Server, Oracle or another DMSII database) will provide
and manage the structure for the new data store to be used by the end user and can provide up
to near real time access to production data.
• End User Applications like Crystal Reports and other de facto reporting tools will continue to
be used to query the data and generate reports.
• Utilities to manage and configure the solution to meet changing business requirements and
end user requests.
• Training to provide City of Miami IT staff with an appropriate level of expertise to manage
operations on a day to day basis.
• Implementation/Consulting Services to ensure the initial replication and set up is completed
successfully and to execute the appropriate level of knowledge transfer.
• Maintenance with Technical Support Subscription to ensure support is available to City of
Miami's 1T Department and so that new releases of the solution are automatically shipped
throughout the active plan year. Pricing has been included for the 2004 and 2005 renewals for
budgetary purposes.
Jim, the pilot has shown that the one time cloning of the largest database takes less than 30 minutes
and that reports that currently take hours to produce can be generated in minutes. Furthermore, it is
assumed that in addition to Miami Police.....Building/Zoning, Fire, Finance and other groups will
substantially benefit from the proposed solution. It is for these reasons that I encourage City of Miami
to take advantage of this recommendation.

Payment Terms
The pricing above is contingent upon the receipt of a purchase order on or October 31, 2003, Net 30.
Pricing excludes applicable sales tax and freight and is subject to final management approval.
Purchase orders are to be faxed to 678-455-8627.
Training
Attaclunate will work with City of Miami to mutually agree upon a date and two (2) clay curriculum
for training for up to five (5) people in our Cincinnati, Ohio location. While City of Miami will be
responsible for travel and lodging, Attachrnate will work to provide recommendations for cost
effective accommodations.
Implementation/Consulting Services
Attachmate will provide one (1) consultant to provide assistance with the initial solution installation
and set up for production. While the pricing above excludes travel and reimbursable expenses, every
effort will be used to minimize expenses which will be capped at $800 for airfare and $200/day for
other expenses. Additional implementation or training services can be provided at the standard rates
of $1,500/day/consultant plus travel and reimbursable expenses and $1,350/day respectively.
Maintenance with Technical Support Subscription
During the one-year subscription, City of Miami's primary maintenance contact will receive or have
the opportunity to receive one copy of each new commercially available version of the Attachrnate
software covered. City of Miami will have the right to copy and distribute the software for the
remainder of units covered under the active plan, whenever it makes most business sense for the
organization.
City of Miami's Maintenance and Technical Support Subscription will provide unlimited incident
coverage, priority phone queues, automatic case status updates, and telephone/Internet response times
within a few hours. Support access options include a free phone number (where available), e-mail, and
online help. In addition, City of Miami's four (4) authorized Technical Support contacts receive
unlimited online access to SupportWeb T"t, Attachmate's Technical Support resource site. This website
provides authorized Technical Support contacts with access to our newest solutions, technical tips,
"how to's", and reference documents. Authorized Technical Support contacts can also access
enhancements and research, and have the ability to manage Technical Support cases on-line.
