HomeMy WebLinkAboutcover memoCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM CA.6 TO : Honorable Mayor and Mers of tI)etity'Commis FROM : Joe rrioia Chie yiinistrator/City Manager DATE: SUBJECT: NOV, 14 2003 Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of Amsino Administrative Sets REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Resolution FELE: FM- I26.doc RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the procurement of Amsino administrative sets for the Department of Fire - Rescue from Sunbelt Medical Supply, Inc., d/b/a Sunbelt Medical/Emergi Source (Non- Minority/Non-Local vendor), located at 20 Capital Drive, Hilton Head, SC 29926, on an as -need basis, using Miami -Dade County Bid/Contract No. 6262-2106-OTR-SW, effective through August 31, 2004, and subject to any extensions by Miami -Dade County, with an option to renew for two (2) years, at an estimated annual amount not to exceed $48,605, for a total contract amount not to exceed $145,815. Funds for this acquisition are available from the Department of Fire -Rescue's General Fund, Account Code No. 001000.280601.6.714, subject to availability of funds. BACKGROUND The Department of Fire -Rescue has a need to secure a contract with a reliable source for the provision of Amsino administration sets on an as -needed contract basis. This requested item is vital and is used by the Fire -Rescue emergency personnel to administer medications to patients suffering from medical and trauma related illnesses or injuries. The administration sets are the tubing system that deliver the medication(s) and requires routine replacement. Failure to have a sufficient amount of pharmaceuticals can jeopardize the safety and well being of the citizens and visitors of the City of Miami.
