STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT AND PURPOSE: ROADS END VILLAGE hereby establishes and reaffirms its commitment to a clearly defined Equal Employment Opportunity Program. The purpose of this Plan is to assure equal employment opportunity to all persons and to attain to the fullest extent reasonable and feasible of accomplishment by ROADS END VILLAGE the elimination of discrimination in employment practices. II. POLICY STATEMENT: ROADS END VILLAGE is committed to equality of opportunity in employment. All employees and job applicants shall be treated equally without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, veteran status, age, national origin, ancestry, or marital status in all employment practices including advertising, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, promotion, transfer, compensation, benefits, discipline, layoff, teu iiinations, recalls and company -sponsored recreational programs. No questions regarding race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, or marital status can be asked during the course of any interview. Questions regarding medical condition or physical handicap can be asked only in regard to the individuals' ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Harassment based on these factors, and sexual harassment, will not be tolerated. III. PLAN FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT: The intent of ROADS END VILLAGE is to provide employment and economic opportunity for the unemployed and economically disadvantaged. This will be achieved throughout the different stages of project development including but not limited to, during the application for peinlit period, construction period and final operation of the finished project. ROADS END VILLAGE has always promoted and encouraged equal employment opportunities for minorities. ROADS END VILLAGE'S equal employment opportunity plan will be adhered to by all firms involved in the planning, construction, and management of this project. IV. CONTRACTOR EQUAL EMPLOYMENT PLAN: In order to promote economic opportunities for minority contractors, subcontractors and vendors with respect to the project, ROADS END VILLAGE shall emphasize the hiring of qualified minority contractors and subcontractors in every phase of the development process. • • • V. IMPLMENTATION OF THE POLICY: The following steps have been taken in order to assure that the company's personnel policies and practices are administered equally and without regard for race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or veteran status. a) The company's Equal Employment Opportunity Policy is distributed to all personnel and is posted within the facility where it is seen by employees and applicants. b) Required governmental EEO posters are posted in the facility where they are seen by employees and applicants. c) All recruitment, selection, placement, training, and layoff decisions made by the Company's supervisors or managers will be based solely on candidate's job -related qualifications and abilities. d) All employees who apply for a promotion or transfer will be given equal consideration for a promotion or transfer. Assuming that an opening exists, the qualifications of a candidate for a promotion or transfer will be assessed solely on the basis of the individual's ability and merit. e) When advertisements for employment are placed, they are placed in media which reach minority communities. If individuals are featured in employment advertisements, both minority and non -minority men and women will be pictured. f) The Company shall establish special programs to recruit, hire, and ensure the advancement of qualified minority group members, women, handicapped individuals and veterans. g) The employment application shall be free of any reference to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status and ancestry, and includes a statement that the Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. h) The Company shall take all necessary steps to ensure that each employee's work environment is free of unlawful discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, handicap or veteran status.
