A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BY A FOUR -FIFTHS
(4/5THS) AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, RATIFYING, APPROVING, AND CONFIRMING
THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDING OF AN EMERGENCY, AND ACCEPTING THE
BIDS OF LOPETEGUI CORPORATION, MIAMI SUBS AND KARLEN
FOODS/DBA/TROPICS TO PURCHASE SANDWICH MEALS AND
MISCELLANEOUS FOOD ITEMS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL
DURING THE FREE TRADE AREA OF THE AMERICAS CONFERENCE TO BE
HELD IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI, NOVEMBER 16 - 22, 2003, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $100,000, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
POLICE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
001000.290201.6.270; FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ISSUE AN EMERGENCY PURCHASE ORDERS FOR SAID PURCHASE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. By an affirmative four -fifths (4/5ths) vote, the City Manager's finding of an
emergency, and accepting the bids of Lopetegui Corporation, Miami Subs and Karlen
Foods/DBA/Tropics to purchase sandwich meals and miscellaneous food items for law
enforcement personnel during the Free Trade Area of the Americas Conference to be held in
Downtown Miami, November 16 - 22, 2003, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, is ratified,
approved and confirmed, with funds allocated from the Department of Police General Operating
Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.270.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to issue an emergency purchase orders for said
purchase.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor. {2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
