HomeMy WebLinkAboutexhibit 3- scope of servicesAttachment "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES 1. Will not work a 40-hour work -week, but will be expected to work those hours as necessary, depending on the need. Daily work hours may fluctuate from day to day. Examiners must report to the Miami Police Department, 400 N.W. 2 Avenue, 5th Floor, Miami, Florida, where daily assignments will be made. 2. Shall examine and evaluate latent fingerprints recovered from crime scenes by personnel of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit. Those latent fingerprints that are found to be of value by the Examiners, and with the concurrence of the full-time Certified Latent Print Examiner Supervisor of the Latent Print Detail, will be searched. 3. Search all latent fingerprints evaluated to be of value. Examiners in this classification must be familiar with standard search methods, such as Area Search, Master File Search and Automated Fingerprint Identification System (A.F.I.S.) Search. All Examiners must be familiar with A.F.I.S.: minutiae input, pattern evaluation and finger priority, and any other related duties. 4. All initial latent identifications and non identifications made by the Examiners will be transferred to a full-time civil service Certified Latent Print Examiner Supervisor. All Court appearances related to the identification will be the responsibility of the full time civil service Certified Latent Print Examiner or Supervisor. 5. Receive and accept supervision and assignments from a superior or his or her designee in charge of the Latent Print Detail both orally and in writing, and work is reviewed by observation, monitoring of the Examiner's operations, and the review of reports and identifications. 6. Provide the Police Department with completed invoices reflecting the date and hours worked, and signed by the Examiners and Criminal Investigations Section Deputy Commander. Invoices must be reviewed and approved before payment will be authorized. 7. All worked performed by the Examiners will be reviewed by a Certified Latent Print Examiner or Supervisor of the Latent Print Detail. 8. Provide any other services as normally and customarily required of contractual latent print examiners for the Miami Police Department.
