HomeMy WebLinkAboutNotice of Public Hearingn PUBLIC NOTICE Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 9:00 AM City of Miami Commission Chamber Community Development 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 Federal regulations governing Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") and other United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of, and an opportunity to comment on, any amendments to funding of HUD programs. The public is advised of the proposed amendments to the funding of the City program(s)indicated below: 1. Discussion and Proposed Resolution authorizing the transfer of CDBG in the amount of $430,800, to be transferred as shown below: Transfer Funds From: Little Haiti Housing Association, Inc, IDIS #2497 ($12,500), Adgam, Inc., IDIS #2479, ($15,500), The Alternative Programs, Inc. , IDIS #2409, ($75,755), House and Style and Envy, Inc., IDIS #2552, ($8,000), London Motors, Inc., IDIS #2561, ($5,654), Kevin Lamont Watkins dba Nivek's Feet & Heavy Lace Ent., IDIS #2053, ($2,097.97), Center of Information and Orientation, IDIS #2487, ($3,300) and City of Miami District 5 Reservice Account, ($307,993.03). Total $430,800. Transfer Funds To: Rafael Hernandez Housing and Economic Development Corporation ($430,800) for Economic Development Activities. Total $430,800. 2. Discussion and proposed resolution accepting the conveyance of the CD Building located at 1525 NW 60 Street from Miami Dream Homes Investment Group, Inc., further authorizing the City Manager to convey said building from the City of Miami to Empower "U", Inc. for the implementation of affordable housing opportunities for low income individuals and families with applicable restrictions. 3. Amend Chapter 2/Article X of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, entitled "Administration/Code Enforcement," more particularly by amending Section 2-817(h)(1), to allow the City Manager to subordinate lien position on loans for the finance or refinance of construction improvements, or release or satisfy any lien placed on a property by the City or by any of its agencies and instrumentalities for affordable housing homeownership or rental housing projects by a project sponsor that has been allocated funds by the City Commission or the City Housing and Commercial Loan Committee for such project to further increase the supply of affordable housing. 4. Discussion and proposed resolution approving an exception to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund ("AHTF") Guidelines for Peninsula Housing Development, Inc. XVII in connection with the La Palma Apartments project. The adoption of this Ordinanc&Resolution, by the City Commission, authorizes the City Manager to draftl amend the appropriate City of Miami annual Action Plan. t This items) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begins Tuesday, September 14, 2010, and ends Wednesday, October 13, 2010.
