Final Action Date:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE COCONUT
GROVE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ("BID"), TO PROVIDE FOR THE
OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE OF THE BID, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2010, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2011.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") established, approved and adopted the Coconut Grove
Business Improvement District ('BID") pursuant to Ordinance No. 13059, adopted March 26, 2009;
and
WHEREAS, the BID was established to stabilize and improve retail and other business with
Coconut Grove through promotion, management, marketing, and other similar services, including but
not limited to, coordination, funding, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure improvements,
and other projects; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-1257 of the City of Miami Code, as amended, (the "Code") provides that the
BID shall submit its annual budget to the City Commission for approval; and
WHEREAS, at its August 19, 2010 scheduled meeting, the BID approved and recommended that
the City Commission adopt the attached budget for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2010 and
ending September 30, 2011;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated
as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The proposed budget of the BID, attached and incorporated, for the Fiscal Year
commencing October 1, 2010 and ending September 30, 2011 is approved.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission
