HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-10-0408Vop City of Miami Legislation < U R �O Resolution: R-10-0408 File Number: 10-01043 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 9/23/2010 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "OUT OF SCHOOL TIME SNACK PROGRAM 2010-2011" AND ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $233,188.80, CONSISTING OF A REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARD RECEIVED FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BUREAU OF CHILDREN NUTRITION PROGRAMS, ADMINISTERING THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM (CFDA #10.558) ("CHILD CARE FOOD PROGRAM"); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT AWARD; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS FROM THE CHILD CARE FOOD PROGRAM INTO THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION SPECIAL REVENUE ACCOUNT # 11550.295999.549000.0.0 FOR THE CITY'S OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME SNACK PROGRAM FROM OCTOBER 2010 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2011. WHEREAS, the City of Miami's ("City") Department of Parks and Recreation requested funding from the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Children Nutrition Programs ("State") as administrator for the United States Department of Agriculture ("USDA") Child and Adult Care Food Program (CFDA # 10.558) (the "Child Care Food Program") to support the City's Out -of- School Time Snack Program located at various City parks; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 09-01052, adopted on September 15, 2009, the City Commission authorized the execution of an award package, including a Grant Award Agreement, to accept the grant; and WHEREAS, the City has been awarded another reimbursement grant in the estimated not to exceed amount of $233,188.80 to continue providing said services, which amount is determined by the number of children served and the reimbursement formula amounts permitted by the USDA to be administered by the State; and WHEREAS, said funds in the estimated not to exceed amount of $233,188.80 from the State must be appropriated; and WHEREAS, the City must execute an award package, including a Grant Award Agreement, to accept the grant and to comply with the terms and conditions of the Child Care Food Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: Out of School Time Snack Program 2010-2011 RESOURCES: Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Children Nutrition $233,188.80 Programs Administering the United States Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program (CFDA#10.558) APPROPRIATIONS: Out of School Time Snack Program 2010-2011 $233,188.80 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept said reimbursement grant award and to execute the necessary documents to implement the acceptance of and compliance with said grant award in the estimated not to exceed amount of $233,188.80, with funds being allocated into the City's Department of Parks and Recreation Special Revenue Account #11550.295999.549000.0.0 for the City's Out -of -School Time Snack Program from October 2010 through September 2011. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
