A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AND
PERMITTING THE RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO
A PORTION OF NORTHWEST 15TH AVENUE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 140
FEET SOUTH OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH NORTHWEST 24TH STREET, MIAMI,
FLORIDA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS; SUBJECT TO
CERTAIN CONDITIONS AS MORE PARTICULARLY SET FORTH HEREIN.
WHEREAS, property owners in the residential neighborhood north of the Allapattah Market area
have expressed concern about the unsafe condition and undesirable activities encroaching into their
neighborhood and have requested the City of Miami to restrict access to a portion of Northwest 15th
Avenue approximately 140 feet south of its intersection with Northwest 24th Street, Miami, Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The restriction of vehicular and pedestrian access to a portion of Northwest 15th
Avenue approximately 140 feet south of its intersection with Northwest 24th Street, Miami, Florida, is
hereby authorized subject to the following conditions:
a) The Department of Public Works shall approve the design and the Department of Capital
Improvements shall install the fence and barricade to prohibit vehicular and pedestrian
access, ensuring no public access;
b) the fence and barricade shall be maintained by the Department of Public Works; and
c) all applicable laws.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1 }
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
