RF,rIR[,.MFNT TRUST' RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission confirm the re -appointments by AFSCME Local 871 of RonThompkins, Caridad Montero, Clarence Graves and Joe Simmons as a representatives selected by AFSCME Local 871 as member of' the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of 'Trustees as per attached Resolution. BACKGROUND: City of Miami Code Section 40-243 (A), (Ordinance No. 1000'} provides for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City ofMiarm General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement `frust." Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the general employees (A.F.S.C.M.E. Local 1907 bargaining unit), and two by the sanitation employees (AFSCME Local 871 bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission per recommendation by the two bat -gaining units. Mr. Joe Sin-u-nons, President of AFSCME Local 871, has submitted for confirmation the names of Ron Thompkins., Caridad Montero, Clarence Graves and Joe Simmons for reappointment to the Pension Board (see attached letters.)
