HomeMy WebLinkAboutLEGISLATIONFile Number: 10-00976 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT ("LEASE"), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND CENTENNIAL EXPRESS INCORPORATED, FOR THE CONTINUED USE OF APPROXIMATELY 1,326 SQUARE FEET OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING WAREHOUSE SPACE FOR THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT, WITH A MONTHLY RENT OF $1,500 ($13.57 PER SQUARE FOOT), FOR ONE-YEAR PERIOD; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT'S GENERAL FUND, ACCOUNT NO. 00001.190001544000.0000.00000,WITH ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS MORE SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN SAID LEASE. WHEREAS, on July 7, 2005, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 05-0417, authorizing the City Manager to execute a Lease Agreement ("Lease") with Centennial Express Incorporated ("Lessor") for the city of Miami's ("City") use of approximately 1,326 square feet of property located in Miami, Florida, for use as warehouse space ("Premises"); and WHEREAS, the Lease has expired and the City of Miami ("City") wishes to pursue a new Lease with the Lessor for a one-year period; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute a Lease, in substantially the attached - form, between the City -and -the -Lessor, for the continued use of -the Premises, for the purpose of providing warehouse space for the Miami Police Department, with a monthly rent of $1,500 ($13.57 per square foot), for a one-year period, with funds allocated from the Miami Police Department's General Fund, Account No. 00001.190001544000.0000.00000, with additional terms and conditions more specifically set forth in said Lease. Section. 3. BRU CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
