Background Information: The City of Miami Police Department submitted a proposal to continue the enhanced police visibility in the Omni CRA and requested funding for the cost associated with the operation of this Police Visibility Program. On June 28, 2010, the Board of Commissioners of the Omni passed Resolution No. 10-0052 authorizing the award of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $500,000. This Police Visibility Program consists of enhanced police services including, increased patrols, assistance to homeless in obtaining sery?ces from local agencies and an increase in the number of special operations.
