Purpose of Item: A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a consent order with the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection "FDEP" to provide for an extension of the compliance deadline imposed by FDEP to complete necessary upgrades to the Lawrence Storm Water Pump Station. Background Information: The Lawrence Storm Water Pump Station currently contains a single -walled underground storage tank which has been deemed non-compliant by FDEP. The City was not able to perform the required upgrades by the FDEP imposed deadline. Rather than stipulating penalties, FDEP agreed to enter into a consent order with the City in order to extend the compliance deadline to December 31, 2010. The City will be issuing a Notice to Proceed for the design/permitting and miscellaneous professional engineering services to bring the Lawrence Pump Station into compliance by the FDEP deadline.
