Subject: Establishment of a Special Revenue Project for a Grant Appropriation and Acceptance from
the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency for New Shade Structure at Margaret Pace Park.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission establishing a new Special Revenue Project entitled
"Margaret Pace Playground Shade Structure"; Appropriating funds from a grant from the Omni
Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency, in the amount not to exceed $60,000,
for the purchase and installation of a new playground shade structure at Margaret Pace Park, 1775
North Bayshore Drive, Miami, Fl; further authorizing the acceptance of said grant; and authorizing
the City Manager to execute the grant agreement and all documents necessary for said purpose.
Background Information:
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has expressed interest in replacing the wind -
damaged shade structure over the existing playground at Margaret Pace Park and therefore on July
22nd 2010, the agency passed CRA Resolution R-10-00861 authorizing the issuance of a grant in the
amount of $60,000 to the City of Miami for the purpose of purchasing and installing said shade
structure at Pace Park. This Resolution formally accepts the CRA grant and authorizes the
establishment of a Special Revenue Project; further authorizing the City Manager to execute the
necessary documents for this purpose.
