Director Chief City Manager - Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Pursuant to Resolution No. 10-0261, adopted June 21, 2010, the Miami City Commission approved the allocation of $12,935,584 in Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS ("HOPWA") funds for fiscal year 2010-2011. Pursuant to Resolution No. 10-0307, adopted July 8, 2010, the Miami City Commission approved the change in the start of City of Miami Department of Community Development's ("CD") fiscal year effective April 1, 2011. CD had previously allocated HOWPA funds to various agencies based on a 12 months allocation and due to the change, Resolution No. 10-0261 has been amended to reflect new allocations based on a 6 months in order to align the allocations with the new fiscal year. The Administration recommends the allocation of Fiscal Year 2010-2011 HOPWA Funds based on 6 - months allocation, in the amount of $12,935,584, as specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, to provide housing assistance and housing related services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
