HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRE RESOLUTIONS�%° City Hall City of Miami ter-- - ti fir_. 3500 Pan American •41.�A., !*i Drive Miami, FL 33133 UAllO Legislation www.miamigov.com ' 0, Resolution: R-10-0261 File Number: 10-00684 Final Action Date: 6/21/2010 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS PROGRAM FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010-2011, IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,935,584, AS SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO PROVIDE HOUSING ASSISTANCE AND HOUSING RELATED SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT(S), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM(S), FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS ("HOPWA") Program was created under the AIDS Housing Opportunity Act and revised under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992; and WHEREAS, since 1994 the City of Miami ("City") has received HOPWA Program funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("U.S. HUD") and has been responsible for the implementation of programs designed to provide housing and related services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in the City and throughout Miami -Dade County; and WHEREAS, U.S. HUD has advised the City that HOPWA funding is available for distribution, in the amount of $12,935,584, for Fiscal Year 2010-2011; and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the allocation of HOPWA Funds for Fiscal Year 2010- 2011, in the amount of $12,935,584, as specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, to provide housing assistance and housing related services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; - Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of HOPWA Program funds for Fiscal Year 2010-2011, in the amount of $12,935,584, as specified in "Attachment A," attached and incorporated, to provide housing assistance and housing related services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1) to execute Agreement(s), in substantially the attached form(s) for said purpose(s). Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2) File Number' 10-00684 Ehactmew Number: R-10-0261 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2) If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission. City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-10-0307 File Number: 10-00785 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 7/8/2010 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CHANGING THE START OF THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT'S FISCAL YEAR, FROM OCTOBER 1 TO APRIL 1, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2011; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has determined that it would be beneficial to the Department of Community Development to change its fiscal year from October 1 to April 1; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends changing the start of the City Department of Community Development's fiscal year from October 1 to April 1, effective April 1, 2011; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The change of the start of the City Department of Community Development's fiscal year from October 1 to April 1, effective April 1, 2011, is approved. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents for said purpose. Section 4.
