HomeMy WebLinkAboutSubmittal-Barbara BisnoThank you for the opportunity to address the Commission today and I would like to thank Chairman Samoff and Comm. Gort for meeting with us and Comm. Dunn and Comm. Suarez for having their top aide meet with us. My name is Barbara Bisno, 1000 Venetian Way, #603 and vice president of the Venetian Causeway Neighborhood Alliance. As the President of our neighborhood group has indicated, the neighborhood believes the Commission should defer this matter until the fall. In the event this Commission does not vote to defer when this matter comes back to you after the public hearing, we would like to advise you that we have met three times with the developer. He declined to make two changes we requested, giving the public and city more time to consider the project and adjusting the ad towers so as not to be visible from the condominium residences on the Venetian Causeway. He did enthusiastically agree to some of our requests, most of which we believe will be incorporated by you Commissioners. These requests are: relinquishing his right to build high rise residential towers under his current Major Use Special Permit by allowing this permit to be cancelled by his Development Agreement, building a low rise pedestrian friendly commercial project instead of a 5 story big box commercial area with parking garage, creating a pedestrian friendly bay walk from the Venetian Causeway to Museum Submitted into the public 0/053 Z - -r, record in connection with b item PZ.16 & PZ.17 on 07-2Z-10 Priscilla A. Thompson City Clerk park, a much greater permit fee, and impact fees to cause the infrastructure costs of this project to be paid by him. We hope you will defer but, if you do not, we trust that you will cause these changes, to which he has agreed, to be incorporated today in any ordinance you approve in regard to this project. Thanks. -7(1"I tG 4
