HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-10-0283Vop City of Miami F .. , 'Ir* Legislation i 0 R �O Resolution: R-10-0283 File Number: 10-00757 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 7/8/2010 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY') DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING TRUST FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000, FOR THE PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING PROPERTY TAXES, LIENS, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES THAT WILL BE USED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development currently manages certain City of Miami ("City") properties that have outstanding property taxes and liens from prior years; and WHEREAS, federal funds cannot be used to pay such back taxes and liens or pay for maintenance of such properties that are not purchased using federal funds; and WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development is currently developing some of the properties but unable to finalize some folio separations because of the outstanding property taxes; and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the allocation of City of Miami Department of Community Development Affordable Housing Trust Funds ("AHTF") in the amount of $100,000 for the payment of outstanding property taxes, liens and maintenance of the City- owned properties that will be used for the construction of affordable housing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of City Department of Community Development AHTF, in the amount of $100,000, for payment of outstanding property taxes, liens and maintenance of the City -owned properties that will be used for the construction of affordable housing, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1 } to execute all necessary document(s), for said purpose(s). Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} City of Miand Page 1 of 2 File Id. 10-00757 (Version: 1) Printed On: 8/2/2017 File Number: 10-00757 Footnotes: Enactment Number: R-10-0283 {1 } The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
