Information: This Ordinance will reduce the membership of the CIP from thirteen to nine. The appointments of the Panel Members will be made by the City Commission directly receiving nominations from the public rather than nominations being generated solely by the sitting members of the panel. Each District Commissioner will propose one member; the Mayor will propose two members; the City Manager will propose one member, all from those nominated by the public. The Chief of Police will have one appointment (exempt from term limitations). A clearly transparent public process will be undertaken to solicit for interested parties from the public and ensure chosen .nominees are made available for public inspection and consideration prior to any appointment.
