HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislation=oF:Y City of Miami i Legislation G�C'ti F Resolution File Number: 10-00744 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY SLIP AND A PORTION OF BICENTENNIAL PARK BY TEAM MIAMI, LLC, FOR THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE 2012, FOR THE APPROXIMATE DATES OF APRIL 22, 2012 THROUGH MAY 25,2012; WITH AN AGREEMENT TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE CITY COMMISSION FOR APPROVAL. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No, 10-0038, adopted January 28, 2010, the City Commission authorized the use of the Florida East Coast Railway ("FEC") slip and a portion of Bicentennial Park by Team Miami, LLC, if awarded the bid for the VOLVO Ocean Race 2012, to be held May 24, 2012 through June, 11, 2012, with an agreement to be brought back to the City Commission for approval; and WHEREAS, Team Miami, LLC has been awarded the bid for the VOLVO Ocean Race 2012, which will now be April 22, 2012 through May 25, 2012; and WHEREAS, the Administration will negotiate an agreement for the use of the FEC slip and other City of Miami services that may be necessary; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The use of the FEC slip and a portion of Bicentennial Park to be used by Team Miami, LLC, for the VOLVO Ocean Race 2012, is authorized, for the approximate dates of April 22, 2012 through May 25, 2012, with an agreement to be brought back to the City Commission for approval. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS S�0� JULIE O.
