Director City Manager 4 C AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("U.S. HUD") advised the City of Miami ("City") of the entitlement grants to be received by the City under the following programs: Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG"), Home Investment Partnerships ("HOME"), Housing Opportunities For Persons With AIDS ("HOPWA"), and the Emergency Shelter Grant ("ESG"). Funds to be granted to the City under said programs are: (1) $8,950,890 to the CDBG Program, (2) $4,974,286 to the HOME Program (3) $12,935,584 to the HOPWA Program, and (5) $363,411 to the ESG Program. The Administration recommends accepting U.S. HUD Entitlement Grant Funds, in the total amount of $27,224,171 as stated herein, for the following programs: CDBG, HOME, HOPWA, and ESG for Fiscal Year 2010-2011.
