A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION URGING MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY ATTORNEY, ROBERT CUEVAS, TO PROVIDE TO THE CITY OF MIAMI
ITS LEGAL INTERPRETATION AS TO WHAT THE CITY OF MIAMI OPTED OUT
OF ON JUNE 12, 2008, [IN CHAPTER 62, SECTION 62-618, OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED] AND WHAT PARTS OF THE
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY SIGN CODE APPLY WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI;
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION
TO MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ATTORNEY, ROBERT CUEVAS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section: 1.The Miami City Commission urges Miami -Dade County Attorney, Robert Cuevas, to
provide to the City of Miami its legal interpretation as to what the City of Miami opted out of on
June 12, 2008, [in Chapter 62, Section 62-618, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended] and what parts of the Miami -Dade County sign code apply within the City of Miami.
Section 2. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Miami -Dade County
Attorney, Robert Cuevas.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1 }
Footnotes:
{1 } If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City.
