Dear Mr. Rodriguez:
This law firm represents Prince Albert, LLC in relation to the referenced
application for a vacation of the alley located on the referenced property. This
letter shall serve as the applicant's letter of intent in support of the application.
The alley in question presently serves no public purpose. The alley is a
remnant associated with the warehouse uses that formerly occupied the
buildings on the property and that were once common in this area. The
applicant's adaptive re -use of the buildings will introduce an office use to the
existing buildings on the property and the Applicant requires the ability to close
the alley in order to provide a pedestrian friendly recreational area for the offices
and for visitors. It is significant to note that alleys in many similarly situated
blocks within the Omniwest area have in recent years been vacated by the City
Commission. Accordingly, the Applicant's request is consistent with these prior
approvals, which recognize the changing character of the area.
The Applicant's request also meets the requirements of Chapter 55 of the
City Code as is demonstrated by the Public Works comments in relation to the
proposed right of way vacation.
