HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-10-0211Vop City of Miami F .. 19611F A111 *'Ir Legislation i 0 R �O Resolution: R-10-0211 File Number: 10-00571 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 5/27/2010 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "2010 SUPPORTIVE SERVICES GRANT" (SUPERNOFA), AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $251,071, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, ADMINISTERED BY THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST, FOR A TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD, TO PROVIDE OUTREACH, INFORMATION, REFERRAL, ASSESSMENT AND PLACEMENT SERVICES TO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT AWARD. WHEREAS, in April, 2010, the Miami -Dade County's consolidated application to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, to provide services to the homeless, was approved; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Homeless Assistance Program ("Program") provides outreach, assessment, information and referral, transportation and housing assistance to the homeless citizens of the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the Program was included in the consolidated application and was awarded the amount of $251,071, plus the City of Miami's required matching funds in the amount of $59,779, allocated from the City of Miami Emergency Shelter Grant, Account No. 14004.910101.882000.0000.00000; and WHEREAS, the amount of $5,978, from the City's matching funds, will be retained by the Grantee for administrative costs, thereby making the total grant award the amount of $310,850; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the for the City Manager to accept said grant and to establish a new special revenue project for the appropriation of said grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the Agreement, in substantially the attached form, in order to implement the acceptance of said grant award. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
