Subject: Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) Grant Application for the Miami River Waterfront Park
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager to
submit an application for grant funding to the Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") Waterways
Assistance Program in an amount not to exceed $173,750 for the Miami River Waterfront Park
acquisition ("Project"); authorizing the allocation of the required matching funds for seventy-five
percent (75%) of the project costs, in an amount not to exceed $521,250 to be provided by the
Biscayne Bay/Miami River Land Acquisition Trust Fund; authorizing the City Manager to execute any
other necessary documents for the submission of said grant application for fiscal year 2010-2011.
Background Information:
The Office of Grants Administration is seeking City Commission authorization to apply for grant
funding from FIND for acquisition of a 0.21 -acre property on the Miami River to be used as a public
park in an amount not to exceed $695,000.
