Subject: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Grant Application for Miami's 2011
Arbor Day Celebration
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager to
submit an application for grant funding to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer
Services' Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, for
the City's 2011 Arbor Day Celebration ("Project"); authorizing the allocation of the required matching
funds for fifty percent (50%) of the project costs, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, to be provided
by the Tree Trust Fund (Account Number 11500.152000. 896000.0000.00000); authorizing the City
Manager to execute any other necessary documents for the submission of said grant application for
fiscal year 2010-2011.
Background Information:
The Office of Grants Administration is seeking City Commission authorization to apply for grant
funding from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under their Urban &
Community Forestry Grant Program for the City's 2011 Arbor Day Celebration to be held in late April
2011 for a total project cost not to exceed $20,000.
