Thompson References: February 11, 2010 Agenda City Clerk Enclosures: List of members The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance. Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. Four (4) appointments are needed at this time: • Vice Chairman Carollo has one (1) nomination:* 1. Michael Wallman, incumbent, whose term expires on March 7, 2010. • Commissioner Gort has one (1) nomination: 1. Vacancy since 1/27/2010 due to resignation of Tatiana Gort. • Commissioner Suarez has one (1) nomination: 1. Eduardo Moralejo, incumbent, whose term expires on May 7, 2011. • Commissioner Richard Dunn II has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Vacancy, since July 16, 2009 (seat formerly held by Leroy Jones). For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the February 11, 2010 Commission agenda. * This matter was deferred from the December 17, 2009 Commission meeting.
