A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BY A FOUR-FIFTHS
(415THS) AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, GRANTING AN INCREASED DURATION OF A
SINGLE EVENT BY CLASS I SPECIAL PERMIT (BEYOND THE TWO (2) WEEKS
ALLOWED PER EVENT), FOR THE MINISTERIAL ALLIANCE CHURCHES IN THE
COCONUT GROVE VILLAGE WEST LOCATED AT THE FOLLOWING
ADDRESSES: 3680 THOMAS AVE, 3415 GRAND AVE, 3623 FROW AVENUE,
3481 HIBISCUS STREET, 3616 DAY AVENUE, 3641 FROW AVENUE, 3585
PLAZA STREET, 3795 FROW AVENUE, 3500 CHARLES AVENUE, 3515
DOUGLAS ROAD, 3345 DOUGLAS ROAD, 4615 BROOKER STREET, 3363
PERCIVAL AVENUE AND 3288 CHARLES AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA,
SPECIFICALLY TO ALLOW A COMMUNITY -WIDE ANTI-DRUG CAMPAIGN
EVENT FOR A DURATION OF UP TO ONE (1) YEAR COMMENCING ON
FEBRUARY 1, 2010 THROUGH FEBRUARY 1, 2011, WITH SAID CLASS 1
SPECIAL PERMIT SUBJECT TO REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY THE ZONING
ADMINISTRATOR AS SET FORTH IN ARTICLES 13 AND 14 OF THE ZONING
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO WAIVE ALL CLASS l SPECIAL PERMIT FEES FOR SUCH
EVENT.
WHEREAS, the applicable provisions of Section 906.9 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Miami, Florida, as amended ("Zoning Code"), provide, in part, that (unless approved by a four-fifths
(415ths) affirmative vote of the City Commission waiving this requirement) no individual event shall
have a duration of more than two (2) weeks, unless authorized for such by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is committed to participating in a community wide anti-drug
campaign event to be held in the Coconut Grove Village West;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. By a four-fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote, an increased duration of a single event by
Class I Special Permit (beyond the two (2) weeks allowed per event), is granted, for the Ministerial
Alliance churches in the Coconut Grove Village West located at the following addresses: 3680
Thomas Avenue, 3415 Grand Avenue, 3623 Frow Avenue, 3481 Hibiscus Street, 3616 Day Avenue,
3641 Frow Avenue, 3585 Plaza Street, 3795 Frow Avenue, 3500 Charles Avenue, 3515 Douglas
Road, 3345 Douglas Road, 4615 Brooker Street, 3363 Percival Avenue and 3288 Charles Avenue,
Miami, Florida, specifically to allow a community -wide anti-drug campaign event for a period of one
year commencing on February 1, 2010 through February 1, 2011, with said Class I Special Permit
subject to review and approval by the Zoning Administrator as set forth in Articles 13 and 14 of the

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
