A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO THE LEASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND AVS INTERNATIONAL GROUP, INC.,
FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI'S USE OF APPROXIMATELY 2,000 SQUARE FEET
OF SPACE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING
WAREHOUSE SPACE FOR THE SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS SECTION OF
THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT WITH A MONTHLY RENT OF $1,833.33
($11.00 PER SQUARE FOOT), WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS MORE
SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN SAID LEASE; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE
MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENTS BUDGET.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0700, adopted December 14, 2006, the City
Commission authorized the City Manager to execute a Lease Agreement (the "Lease") between the
City of Miami (the "City") and AVS International Group, Inc. (the "Lessor"), for the City's use of 2,000
square feet of warehouse space (the "Premises"); and
WHEREAS, the Lease included an initial term of one (1) year with five (5) additional one-year
options, and with any rent increases during the remaining three (3) option years subject to City
Commission approval; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to use the Premises in year 2010 and has negotiated with
the Lessor a one-year renewal option at a mutually agreed upon rate of $11.00 per square foot;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1) to execute an Amendment, in substantially the
attached form, to the Lease between the City and the Lessor, for the City's use of the Premises
located in Miami, Florida, for the purpose of providing warehouse space for the Special Investigations
Section of the Miami Police Department, with a monthly rent of $1,833.33 ($11.00 per square foot),
with terms and conditions as more specifically set forth in said Lease, with funds allocated from the
Miami Police Department's budget.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2)

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
