Subject: Acceptance of Grant - Miami -Dade County Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond - 1814 Brickell
Purpose of Item:
It is recommended that the Miami City Commission adopt the attached Resolution, with attachments,
authorizing the City Manager to accept a grant award from Miami -Dade County's Safe Neighborhood
Parks Bond Program in the amount not to exceed $327,775 for the acquisition of land located at 1814
Brickell Avenue; authorizing the allocation of the required match (non -general fund) not to exceed
$2,260,000 for Park Land Purchase at 1814 Brickell; authorizing the City Manager to execute the
necessary documents in substantially the attached forms, for acceptance of grant award for fiscal year
2010, and submit to the terms and conditions of said grant agreements.
Information:
Due to the lack of park space in a high-density residential area, Miami -Dade County approved the use
of grant funds to purchase park land at 1814 Brickell Avenue to increase the City of Miami's
inventory of green spaces.
