Hope Center focuses on a person's abilities and provides the support needed to be a successful employee. The partnership that Supported Employment has established between individuals with developmental disabilities and the community has a lasting impact on the way the public perceives our clients. Ongoing support is provided to help each person obtain and maintain a job. The focus is on exploring all options until success is achieved. This support is not time limited and includes assistance for job advancement or job change as well as an initial induction into the workplace and its culture. Employment is in integrated settings. Hope Center Supported Employment works to: • Promote the expansion of supported employment services. • Increase training opportunities for Supported Employment professionals for entry level and advanced staff. • Encourage the use of "Supported Employment Best Practices" throughout South Florida while evaluating the potential impact of certification in our profession. • Educate the state legislature regarding issues that impact supported employment services. Services include job coaching, job training, and employment assistance. Our clients enjoy working for companies such as Target Stores, Publix, Winn Dixie, Wendy's and Burger King. The Supported Employment department also provides employment in a variety of mobile janitorial services through contracts with the City of Miami at City Hall in Coconut Grove, Bayside, Manuel Center and the Miami Marina.
