CITY OF MIAMI
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on January 14,
2010, to consider approving an amendment to the original Scope of
Work of the African Square Park Project, funded by the Safe
Neighborhood Parks Bond program as originally stated in the Miami -
Dade County Ordinance No. 96-115, requiring renovations of the
amphitheatre, playing field renovations and a tot lot, now modifying said
requirements for the purpose of funding much needed new flooring in
the recreation building, the construction of a new playground, a new tot
lot and site furnishings throughout the park. Inquiries regarding this
notice may be addressed to Mario 7. Beovides, Department of Parks and
Recreation at (305) 416-1321.
This action is being considered in order to comply with the requirements
of Miami -Dade County so as to facilitate the proper reimbursements to
the City for the addition of new linoleum flooring in the recreation
building and other site Improvements provided at African Square Park.
The Public Hearing will be held in conjunction with the regularly
scheduled City Commission meeting of January 14, 2010 commencing at
9:00 AM at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida.
All interested individuals are invited to attend this hearing and may
comment on the proposed issue. Should any person desire to appeal any
decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at
this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the
proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence upon which
any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons

contact the Office of the City Clerk at (305) 250-5360 (Voice) no later
than two (2) business days prior to the proceeding or at (305) 250-5472
