HomeMy WebLinkAboutSubmittal-Mayor RegaladoN January 7, 2010 Mayor Tomas Regalado City of Miami 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 Re: Marlins Stadium Site Parking Dear Mayor Regalado: As a direct result of further conversations regarding the above -referenced project, Suffolk Construction is willing to commit to a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in the amount of $75,000,000. This GMP will not increase with the exception of unforeseen conditions, any changes to the plans as they relate to code issues after the permit has been issued, and/or owner -initiated changes in the scope of the work. These are work items that are typically covered by an Owner's Contingency. We understand the City will engage us to perform preconstruction services in the amount of $168,174 for the months of January and February, 2010, We understand that when we successfully enter into a GMP contract with the City, the value of these services will be included in our contract and are currently included in our GMP estimate of $75,000,000. Should we not be able to reach a successful GMP contract, we understand we will be compensated only the amount of $168,174 for our services. During this preconstruction period, we will actively solicit pricing from the subcontractor community and be prepared to submit and enter into a GMP contract with the City by the first week of March, 2010. It would be our expectation that we will arrive at a final GMP value of less than $ 75,000,000. Our efforts during this preconstruction period to arrive at a final GMP will be completely open book and transparent. We will work cooperatively with the City's staff and Project Manager to achieve an end result which will exceed your expectations. Our final GMP will be based on the final drawings issued by Leo A. Daly, and under no circumstance will the cost exceed $75,000,000. Additionally, Suffolk is committed to meet and exceed the CSBE and CWP goals that were established in the initial request for proposal for this project, and we will meet all of the conditions required by the contract. We would appreciate it if you could forward this proposal to the City Manager and Commissioners for your acceptance as soon as practical, so we may formally begin work. We sincerely appreciate your consideration, and we look forward to working with you on this exciting project.
