Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement
SUPPORT increase in all CDBG Program Funds to pre 2000 levels. The City of Miami being one
of the poorest cities in the country, relies on its CDBG allocation to provide elderly meals, child
care and a host of public service programs. Reducing the City's CDBG allocation from $12.7
million in 2000 to $8.7 million means a reduction in funds available for all the public service
programs.
ADVOCATE for the use of CDBG funds for social services. There is currently a 15% cap. Support
increasing the cap to 25% during these difficult economic times for two years and gradually
return to cap for e.g.: year 3 at 20% and year 4 return to the 15% cap.
