It will also incorporate readily available and appropriate recycled and salvaged materials`;in the renovation process and design on the structure's community educational and work spaces. Proposed Energy Saved - The Miami Green Lab will be constructed to LEED-NC Silver certification requirements which assumes energy savings of at least 14% over typical (standard/non energy-efficient) construction methods. The renovation of Miami Green Lab is expected to result in at least 14% greater energy savings over standard construction techniques due to the energy-efficient and renewable energy technologies incorporated to satisfy LEED-NC Silver requirements. Proposed Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduced - The construction of Miami Green Lab involvee the renovation of a City -owned former fire station. The building has been vacant for approximately 20 years. As a result, the city does not have verifiable historic energy consumption data establish the baseline consumption conditions and associated GHG emissions needed to calculate quantifiable reductions in energy consumption and associated GHG emissions post renovation.
