HomeMy WebLinkAboutPre-LegislationFile Number: 05-00669' Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND PST SERVICES, INC., D/B/A PER -SE TECHNOLOGIES, UNDER THE EXISTING CiTY OF OAKLAND PARK, FLORIDA, AWARD OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS NO. 082704EMS, TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORT BILLING AND COLLECTIONS SERVICES, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE, AT A PROPOSED COST OF 6% OF THE NET AMOUNT COLLECTED AND A FLAT FEE OF $7.50, PER MEDICAID CLAIM, FOR A TERM OF THREE (3) YEARS, EFFECTIVE UNTiL DECEMBER 31, 2008 ITH AN OPTION TO RENEW FOR ONE (1) ADDITIONAL YEAR; LOCATING FUNDS FROM SAID COLLECTIONS, FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE GENERAL ACCOUNT NO. 001000.280601.6.340; SUBJECT ONLY TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL. WHEREAS, Request for Proposals ("RFP") No. 082704EMS was issued by the City of Oakla Park, Florida for the provision of Emergency Medical Transport Billing and Collection Services, a foilowing an evaluation, a contract was awarded to PST Services, inc., d/b/a Per -Se Technologic ("Per -Se"); and WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") desires to receive the best services at the lowest cost possible as it relates to the City collection services; and e mmrrn 4'd•S LA, ¢ WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City acquire emergency medical transport biding and collection services from Per -Se, as a piggyback pursuant to the executed contract from RFP No. 082704EMS for the City of Oakland Park, Florida; NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CiTY OF MiAMI, FLORIDA: . Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this,Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1) to execute a Practice Management Services Agreement, in substantially the attached form, between the City and Per -Se, utilizing an existing contract, pursuant to RFP No. 082704EMS with the City of Oakland Park, Florida, to provide emergency medical transport billing and collection services, for the Department of Fire -Rescue, at a proposed cost of 6% of the net amount collected and a flat fee of $7.50, per Medicaid claim, for a term of three (3) years, effective until December 31, 2008, with the option the renew for one (1) additional year, with funds allocated from said collections,, from the Department of Fire -Rescue General Account Code No, 001000.280601.6.340, subject only to budgetary approval. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTN-F--Scl/ EZ CITY Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
