Subject: Proposed Resolution Authorizing Payment of'09-' 10 Miami Dade Scale Fees
Purpose of Item:
It is respectfully recommended that the attached Resolution authorizing the payment to Miami -Dade
County for the disposal of solid waste materials collected in and by the City of Miami in the amount
of $8,400,000.00 be approved. Funds will be expended as necessary throughout the fiscal year.

Subject: Resolution Authorizing Payment of FY'09-10 Miami Dade Scale Fees
Background Information:
The City of Miami entered into an Interlocal Agreement with Miami -Dade County for the
use of the County's Solid Waste Management System Facilities for disposal of certain
solid waste materials collected in and by the City of Miami. The Interlocal Agreement
established the fees for disposal and transfer of materials collected in and by the City at
$59.77 per ton for disposal and $11.77 per ton for transfer or totaling $71.54 per ton at
the Resource Recovery, Landfill or Transfer Facilities respectively.
The estimated amount for disposal fees will not exceed $8,400,000.00 and cannot be
increased without prior approval of the City's Office of Strategic Planning, Budgeting
and Performance.
