The decrease in the fees is based on the actual Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all Urban Consumers for the South Region United States, from July 2008 through June 2009. As the Interlocal Agreement delineates, "the amount of CPI increase or decrease above or below the five percent (5%) cap shall be applied to CPI increases or decreases in future years when the CPI increase or decrease is less than five percent (5%)". The full capped amount of 5% was applied, even though the actual CPI for last year was 5.3% (allowing for the additional 0.3% to be added to the current year). This year's CPI is a negative 1.4%; therefore, a decrease of 1.1% will be applied, pursuant to approval by the Board of County Commissioners. Therefore, the proposed changes are as follows: Disposal Fee: From: $60.43 per ton To: $59.77 per ton Transfer Fee: From: $11.90 per ton To: $11.77 per ton Should you require additional information, please contact Ms. Aneisha Daniel, Assistant Director, Administration at (305) 514-6630. Sincerely, Kathleen Woods -Richardson Director
