Final Action Date:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR
WATER AND SANITARY SEWAGE FACILITIES BETWEEN MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIAMI, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED
FORM, FOR THE PROVISION OF WATER AND SANITARY SEWER SERVICES
FOR THE ORANGE BOWL FIELD AT MOORE PARK PROJECT, B-30625;
ALLOCATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $24,702.66, FROM THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ACCOUNT, B-30625, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") intends to demolish a 322 seat stadium previously connected
to the Miami -Dade County's water and sewer systems, representing an average daily gallonage credit
of 966 gallons; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City to construct and connect a 1,500 seat stadium,
representing an average daily gallonage of 4,500 gallons; and
WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County Water and Sewer Department ("WASD") calculates the estimated
capacity needed for the project and a connection charge based on the agreed average total daily
gallonage of 3,534 gallons; and
WHEREAS, the combined water and sewer connection charge is $24,702.66, due to WASD after
construction is completed and a water meter is installed; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager requests authorization to execute an agreement for water and
sanitary sewage facilities with WASD ("Agreement"), in substantially the attached form, to provide for
these services with funds allocated from the Capital Improvement Project ("CIP") Account, B-30625;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, for the provision of water and sanitary sewer services, for the Orange Bowl Field at
Moore Park Project, B-30625, with funds allocated in the amount of $24,702.66, from the CIP Project
Account, B-30625.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. (2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
