Chief City <:� 0 Tn Page 1 of AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: The City of Miami ("City") receives funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for its Section 8 Programs and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS ("HOPWA") Program. The City's Department of Community Development ("Department") is required to provide Housing Quality Standard ("HQS") inspection services for the Section 8 and HOPWA programs. Resolution No. 06-0650, adopted November 9, 2006, the City Commission approved the allocation of funds to ABDA to provide housing quality standard inspection services for the City of Miami's Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Moderate Rehabilitation Programs and HOPWA program. Pursuant to Resolution No. 08-0637, adopted November 13, 2008, the City Commission extended said contract to September 30, 2009. The Department has a need for ABDA to continue to provide such service. ABDA has continued to successfully complete all requirements under the contract. The Administration is requesting the transfer of CDBG program administration funds, in the amount of $80,000 from the Department Administration fund to ABDA to provide HQS inspection services for the Section 8 and HOPWA programs.
