A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED "KENNEDY PARK
SHORELINE STABILIZATION PHASE I," AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED$40,000, CONSISTING OF A GRANT AWARD FROM
THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT ("FIND"); AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCH OF $40,000, FROM
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND B-30541; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIND PROJECT AGREEMENT, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE
ACCEPTANCE OF AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT AWARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has a strong interest in providing shoreline stabilization and
restoring tidal flow at Kennedy Park, providing a natural resource for the use and enjoyment of its
residents; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 09-0152, adopted March 26, 2009, the City Commission
authorized the application of a grant from Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") and authorized the
allocation of the City's required matching funds; and
WHEREAS, the City received a grant from FIND, for planning, designing, engineering and
permitting the Kennedy Park Shoreline Stabilization Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, the City was awarded a grant in the amount not to exceed $40,000, to provide
activities related to the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City will match this grant award with the amount of $40,000 from Special Revenue
Fund B-30541;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the FIND Project Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, in order to implement the acceptance and administration of said grant
award.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1) The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
