County Commission District in which project/land is located: District 7, Carlo Gimenez D. Project Description, Objectives and Goals: Parks and open spaces are essential to the quality of life in the City of Miami. The City seeks assistance with the purchase of park land located at 1814 Brickell Avenue in the amount of $500,000. The Brickell area has a significant deficit of park space. And with an unprecedented level of development immediately north of the proposed park over the past few years, the demand continues to grow. The City of Miami has a unique opportunity to acquire and create a city park in a highly desirable location and a double lot measuring 35,500 SF, a rarity in this neighborhood. Located close to 1-95 and the Rickenbacker Causeway, the park will be capable of serving both the immediate neighborhood and other users.
