A. Personnel
Six officers will teach the middle school component. Each officer will teach four classes for a
total of 24 classes with an average number of 25 students per class for an approximate total of
600 students. Each officer will teach 80 hours. As a result, at the middle school level, the
officers will teach a total of 480 hours at an average overtime rate of $52.42 per hour, for a total
of $25,162.00. At the elementary level, there will be five officers teaching four classes each for
a total of 20 classes with an average number of 25 students per class for an approximate total of
500 students. Each officer will teach 40 hours. As a result, at the elementary school component,
the officers will teach 200 hours at an average overtime rate of also $52.42 for a total of $10,
484, for a combined total of $35,646.
The summer component will consist of two officers, who will work 3 hours each for 6 weeks
consecutively, for a total of 40 hours at an average overtime rate of $52.42 for a total of
$2,097.00. This summer component will mentor and graduate approximately 40 participants.
The summer component will also consist of two field trips. The trips will take 20 participants
with 5 officers and will last 10 hours each, for a total of 40 participants and 10 officers. The ten
officers will work 10 hours each and get paid at an average overtime rate of $52.42 for a total
cost of $5,242.00. The combined total for this component is $7,339.
The overall total for Personnel is $42,985.
B. Fringe Benefits
Thirteen officers for a total personnel cost of $42,985 X 10.26% (Workers Compensation and
FICA) totaling $4,410.
The overall total for Fringe Benefits is $4,410.
C. Travel
Two officers will attend the required GREAT conference. The two officers attending the 5 -day
Conference will incur an estimated expense of $3,966. This will cover airfare ($1,200.00); car
rental ($250.00); hotel ($1,500.00); registration ($450.00) and meals ($566.00).
Two officers will attend the training to become certified to teach the GREAT curriculum. The
two-week GREAT Training in Orlando, Florida, will cost an estimated total of $1,938. This will
include meals, parking, gas and miscellaneous expenses at a rate of $64.60 per diem per day, per
officer, respectively, for a total of 15 days.
The overall total for Travel is $5,904.
D. Equipment
Officers will need to be available 24 hours per day, seven days a week. As a result, three cellular
telephones are being requested for their use. These telephones and their monthly expense will
total $75 per month for 12 months.
The overall total for Equipment is $2,700.
E. Supplies
Food and beverages for 44 graduations at $100.00 per graduation for a total of $4,400.
The cost of admission per field trip is approximately cost of $20.00 per ticket including lunch for
40 participants for a total of $800. Parking is approximately $10.00 per trip for a total of $20.00.
The total for field trips is $ 820.
Participants attending the middle school, elementary and summer components will various
incentives for attendance, participation and achievement such as t -shirts, water bottles, back
packs, school supplies, windbreaker jackets, caps and key chains. The goal is to graduate 600
students at the middle school level, 500 at the elementary level and 40 during the summer, for a
total of 1,140 participants. The cost per participant is $7.42 X 1,140 participants for a total of
$8,459.
The overall total expenditures for all participants is $13,679.
GREAT will recognize school principals and staff, volunteers and community partners with pen
& pencil sets, plaques or acrylic tokens of appreciation at a rate of $30.00 each X 30 for a total of
$900.
GREAT officers will receive polo shirts inscribed with the GREAT logo at a cost of $26.50 X 13
officers for a total cost of $345.
The combined cost for Supplies is $14,924.

Of the 44 graduating classes, 26 classes will be provided for in-kind at approximately 3 hours X
2 officers for a total of 156 hours. Two officers will be responsible for each graduation, at an
average overtime rate of $52.42 for a total of $8,178. These monies will be used to meet the
match requirement for this grant.
