Request to Use Gry Hall For Early
Voting Site — 2009 Elections
The Office of the City Clerk is requesting consideration for early voting for the general
municipal election scheduled for November 3, 2009.
Florida Statute §101.657(e) enables municipalities to provide early voting in municipal
elections that are not held in conjunction with county or state elections. A municipality may
designate as many sites as necessary and shall conduct its activities providing that:
• Electors are allowed to vote early in main or branch offices of the supervisor of
elections, public libraries and/or city halls;
• The supervisor shall designate each early voting site by no later than the 30th day
prior to an election and shall designate an early voting area at each early voting site; and
• AR early voting sites shall be open on the same days for the same amount of time
and shall allow any person in line at the closing of an early voting site to vote.
The Office of the Gry Clerk in coordination with the Miami -Dade County Elections
Department has selected the following five (5) locations to utilize as early voting sites for the
upcoming election(s).

Please be advised that all City of Miami registered voters will be able to vote• at any of the
early voting sites as the voting machines will be print customized ballots on demand for the
optical scan (paper ballot) system.
The sites are proposed, to be opened 'for 1 week only from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M
weekdays from October 26 to October 30 and frbin-9:00 A -M. to 1:00 P.M on Saturday,
October 31 and -Sunday, November 1.
We will not be scheduling early voting for a runoff election.
This item has been scheduled for first reading by the Conunission on the
September 10, 2009 Commission meeting agenda. -
Attached hereto is a map of these earlyvoting sites.
