Describe the qualities, experience, expertise and/or abilities that you possess that would make you an effective board member that will act in the public interest. I am a lawyer, my practice is construction and development related. I am also a 15 year resident of the City of -Miami, andover that time, have seen the City grow, sometimes in ways I think improve the City as a place to live and to do business, sometimes not. After my experience representing several neighbors in the Mercy Hospital Related Group condominium project, I have learned much about the land use process in the City of Miami. It works, but it also can be improved. I believe I would be an effective board member, as I believe in the collegial natures of these boards, and have thoughts on how to improve the process. I will act in'the public interest, by basing decisions on the MNCP and the FLUM, and the zoning code. These documents make up the road map that the public has chosen, and should only be deviated from in exceptional cases. Forth Boards1MA-PAB213-0701.01 Page 1 of 4 2. I continued on, representing several neighbors in the court cases that followed the commission hearings, on a pro bono basis.
