STH COURT BETWEEN NjW. 60TH STREET AND N.W. 62ND STREET AS "RED RAIDERS ROAD"; REQUESTING DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO MAKE AND INSTALL STREET IDENTIFICATION SIGNS BEARING SUCH DUAL DESIGNATION; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING; THE CITY CLERK TO FORWARD THIS RESOLUTION TO AFFECTED AGENCIES. WHEREAS, a group of citizens has formally requested the City to change the designation of the traveled thoroughfare of N.W. 5th Court between NW. 60th Street and N.W. 62nd Street to "Red Raiders Road"; and 1 WHEREAS, the requested co -designation was discussed and not recommended by the City's Plat and Street Committee on December 19, 1985; and WHEREAS, the request has intrinsic merit in that it demonstrates community pride and granting such request will foster the spirit ofcommunity harmony; and WHEREAS, on March 27, 1986 the City Commission approved the herein co -designation subject to input from the Miami Memorial Committee; and WHEREAS, it has! been determined that the said Committee was not formally re-established after its term of existence expired in 1982 and to await formal re -activation of the Miami Memorial Committee would unduly delay the herein co -designation; NOW, THEREFORE,jBE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. N.F. 5th Court bat,eea =;.W. 60ca Street and N.W. 62nd Street in.. the City of Miami, Florida, is hereby co - designated as "Red Raiders Road". Section 2. Liade County Department of Public Works is requested to make and install street identification signs bearing CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF " APR 1101968 RESOLUTION No. I the dual designation of the thoroughfares) as set forth in Section 1 hereof. Section 3." The City Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified; copy of this resolution to the Dade County Department of Public Works, the U.S. Postal Service and other affected City or County agencies.
