Purpose of Item: A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachment(s), authorizing the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1, in substantially the attached form, to the Locally Funded Joint Participation Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"), for the construction of certain roadway enhancements along Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida, in order to modify the financial provisions in Section 3(e) of the agreement to allow FDOT to keep any interest accumulated in the escrow account to be applied to any shortfall in project funding. Background Information: On June 14, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 07-0361 authorizing the Locally' Funded Joint Participation Agreement with FDOT for the construction of roadway enhancements !I along Biscayne Boulevard in an amount not to exceed $219,000. The lowest responsive bidder's unit price for the enhancements was significantly higher than the projected $219,000. FDOT agreed to cover the additional cost. It is in the best interest of the City to amend the Agreement to allow FDOT to keep any interest accumulated in the escrow account to be applied to any shortfall in project, Budget Impact Analysis NO Is this item related to revenue?
